Description:
As a Software Engineer at Traject Data, you will help shape the foundation of web applications and services across the stack.
Your responsibilities will include building clean, intuitive user experiences and designing scalable backend APIs.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and fellow Engineers, contributing to feature planning, system architecture, and hands-on implementation.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded engineer comfortable working across both frontend and backend, with a curiosity for how things work and a passion for building great software.
Success in this role means being a team-oriented, curious engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, writing clean, maintainable code, and taking ownership of features end-to-end.
You will support your teammates by sharing feedback, mentoring, and fostering a growth mindset.
Requirements:
You must have solid experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like React.
Experience in building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs is required.
A working knowledge of Node.js, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and server-side logic is necessary.
Familiarity with modern CSS methodologies and styling approaches (CSS-in-JS, PostCSS, Sass, etc.) is expected.
You should be comfortable working in a full-stack environment, even if you lean slightly towards frontend or backend.
Experience with Git and CI/CD tools is essential.
A continuous learning mindset and openness to exploring new technologies are important.
Bonus points for experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP), containerization, or frontend performance optimization.
