Description:

Veeva Systems is seeking an IT Data Engineer to support the IT organization’s data strategy for business customers and internal initiatives.
The role involves building data pipelines, aggregating data from multiple sources, and working with cloud data platforms and scripting.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with the IT Data Architect, Integration Engineers, Business Operations customers, and Services Partners to enhance data and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities include developing the next generation data and analytics infrastructure, writing high-quality SQL code, and creating SQL models for reporting and dashboarding.
The position requires direct interaction with business stakeholders to align data solutions with business needs.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience is required.
At least 1 year of professional experience in cloud data engineering and associated technologies, particularly with platforms like Databricks, AWS RedShift, and Snowflake.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in advanced SQL data modeling and query optimization is necessary.
Advanced SQL modeling skills are required, with dbt experience being a plus.
Proficient Python scripting skills are essential.
Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, or Power BI is required.
Candidates should have experience in performing root cause analysis on data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are necessary for effective communication of complex technical information.
