Description:

The IT Security Internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in protecting an organization's digital assets.
Interns will work under the guidance of senior security professionals to learn about and contribute to various aspects of cybersecurity.
Responsibilities include supporting security operations by monitoring security alerts and incidents using SIEM systems, investigating and analyzing security breaches, and participating in vulnerability scans and assessments.
Interns will assist in identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities and support the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
The role involves ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
Interns will gather and analyze threat intelligence to understand emerging threats and help develop strategies to mitigate identified threats.
They will contribute to the creation and delivery of security awareness programs for employees and assist in educating staff about common security threats.
Maintaining detailed records of security incidents and responses, documenting security configurations, processes, and procedures is also part of the role.
Interns are expected to stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and assist in researching new security tools and technologies.

Requirements:

Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
A basic understanding of networking and operating systems is required.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems is necessary.
Knowledge of programming or scripting languages, such as Python or JavaScript, is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Good verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively convey technical information.
A strong interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to learn is preferred.
Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Detail-oriented individuals with strong organizational and time management skills are ideal.
Previous internship or coursework in cybersecurity or related areas is beneficial but not required.

The internship offers a compensation of $20 per hour.
