Description:
The Java Developer Instructor will support instructor-led training that prepares students for entry-level to mid-level careers in Java Development.
Responsibilities include daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance tracking, one-on-one tutoring, daily evaluation and monitoring of individual student progress, and addressing student violations consistently.
The instructor will provide students with access to relevant resources for outside learning on technologies and study aids relevant to the curriculum.
They will work closely with the team to identify student needs, provide necessary support, establish individualized plans for student achievement, and participate in regular student-status meetings.
The instructor will maintain and update Salesforce and/or the LMS with student grades, certification, scores, and progress notes.
They will support and maintain the training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and any other classroom materials.
The instructor may fill in for other instructors in other classes when necessary with little to no notice.
They will assist in curriculum development and support the lead instructor and substitute instructor when necessary.
The instructor will be available to tutor learners in both one-on-one and group virtual settings.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 1 year of teaching experience.
Candidates must have at least 1 year of IT work experience.
Knowledge of database-management systems, SQL commands, functions, joins, subqueries, and CRUD tables is required.
Candidates should have knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
Familiarity with Full Stack Development stack including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Core Java, OOP, JDBC, ORM, Java EE, Spring data JPA, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Boot, Servlets, JSP, and Thymeleaf is necessary.
Candidates must be able to leverage built-in debugging tools.
Familiarity with DevOps and experience with CI/CD, GitHub, and Jenkins is required.
Candidates should be able to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom.
Strong communication skills are essential.
Qualified candidates must be able to comfortably and frequently lift 50lbs.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and associated concepts, the ability to write content and curriculum related to instructional outcomes, and experience with Angular 8 or above and ReactJS.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is between $65,000/year and $75,000/year, determined by factors such as geography and alignment with qualifications and experience.
