Remote Java Engineer

Description:

• Brandwatch is seeking a Java Engineer to join the Advertise team, which is part of an established cross-functional and autonomous product team.
• The role involves developing the Advertise module in the Social Media Management platform.
• As a Java Engineer, you will contribute to backend efforts and help deliver sustainable solutions.
• Responsibilities include identifying pragmatic abstractions and design patterns, and writing clean, reusable, and robust code.
• You will develop high-quality code to improve current solutions or provide new functionality to customers.
• The position encompasses the entire journey of bringing a feature from discovery to delivery.
• Key tasks include defining accurate domain models, developing quality microservice solutions, storing data efficiently, building highly parallel data processing pipelines, and designing and improving services.
• You will write elegant, self-testing, and well-documented code while ensuring effective communication with colleagues and management.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a developer on a production system is required.
• Good knowledge of Java, specifically versions 17 and 21, is essential.
• Familiarity with Spring and/or RESTEasy and/or Quarkus ecosystems is necessary.
• A solid understanding of RESTful APIs, including their design and implementation, is required.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is needed.
• Candidates should have experience building and/or running large-scale applications on a PaaS/SaaS cloud, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is considered a significant advantage.
• Experience with messaging technologies, particularly Kafka, is a plus.
• Fluency in the English language is mandatory.
