Description:
Brandwatch is seeking a Java Engineer to join the Advertise team, which is part of an established cross-functional and autonomous product team.
The role involves developing the Advertise module in the Social Media Management platform.
As a Java Engineer, you will contribute to backend efforts and help deliver sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities include identifying pragmatic abstractions and design patterns, and writing clean, reusable, and robust code.
You will develop high-quality code to improve current solutions or provide new functionality to customers.
The position encompasses the entire journey of bringing a feature from discovery to delivery.
Key tasks include defining accurate domain models, developing quality microservice solutions, storing data efficiently, building highly parallel data processing pipelines, and designing and improving services.
You will write elegant, self-testing, and well-documented code while ensuring effective communication with colleagues and management.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a developer on a production system is required.
Good knowledge of Java, specifically versions 17 and 21, is essential.
Familiarity with Spring and/or RESTEasy and/or Quarkus ecosystems is necessary.
A solid understanding of RESTful APIs, including their design and implementation, is required.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is needed.
Candidates should have experience building and/or running large-scale applications on a PaaS/SaaS cloud, preferably AWS.
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is considered a significant advantage.
Experience with messaging technologies, particularly Kafka, is a plus.
Fluency in the English language is mandatory.
