Description:
The Java Solutions Architect will serve as the technical owner from design to resolution of tailored solutions to sophisticated problems on cloud platforms based on client requirements and other constraints.
This role involves partnering with appropriate stakeholders to determine functional and nonfunctional requirements, as well as business goals, for a set of scenarios.
The architect will assess and plan for new technology insertion and manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture.
Responsibilities include contributing to code reviews, documentation, and architectural artifacts, as well as providing leadership and oversight to the project team pertaining to solution design.
The architect will be an active leader in the Architecture Practice community, mentoring Engineers and others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, supporting the growth of technical capabilities.
The role requires developing and executing or leading the execution of a technical vision, within one or more business or technical domains, with a focus on business value.
The architect will design architectures that align with the DevOps culture and QA Automation practices.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience/expertise working as a Software Architect and/or Solutions Architect is necessary, with proficiency in Java and key Java-based frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Apache.
Experience with RESTful web services and a deep understanding of SQL and relational databases is essential, with PostgreSQL preferred or alternatively MySQL.
The candidate should have experience generating specs/APIs (OAS, Swagger) and working with AWS CloudContainerized services (AWS EKS).
Knowledge of High Availability architecture (AWS Redis Cluster, Kinesis Data Shards), Redis, KeyCloak, Jenkins, and Postman is required.
English proficiency is necessary to interact with a globally-based development team and U.S.-based clients.
The candidate must have client-facing experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and employ a consultative and collaborative approach to solution design.
Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to articulate technical details to clients at the executive level and communicate effectively with the development team.
The candidate should demonstrate leadership, critical reasoning, and good decision-making skills, along with a solid understanding of SDLC processes and familiarity with actionable metrics and KPIs.
Experience leading Agile software development methodologies and high-level design proficiency following UML / C4 / ArchiMate is required.
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools is necessary, along with the ability to mentor engineers and decision-makers throughout the organization.
