Description:
The position is for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java, focused on enhancing DoD Timekeeping Systems.
The role involves working on a mission-critical DoD timekeeping system that ensures accurate and efficient financial and workforce management.
The candidate will support the DISA Automated Time Attendance and Production System (DATAAPS) within the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS).
Responsibilities include the design, development, integration, and enhancement of Java-based enterprise applications.
The candidate will ensure the scalability, security, and compliance of the system in alignment with DoD cybersecurity policies (DoD 8140.03) and CMMI best practices.
Involvement in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is required, with an emphasis on requirements analysis, system evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance (IV&V and DT&E).
The candidate will develop and maintain web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
Responsibilities also include optimizing database performance and ensuring software solutions are delivered within time and cost constraints.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Java/JavaScript is essential for this position.
Hands-on experience in Java development for enterprise applications is required.
Strong knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS, and XML is necessary for building and enhancing web applications.
Experience with Oracle Database and Oracle PL/SQL for data management and optimization is required.
The candidate must have the ability to work in an Agile environment, contributing to iterative development and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) methodologies for software development and quality assurance is necessary.
The candidate must meet DoD Manual 8140.03 requirements for cyber workforce qualification and system security.
Ability to analyze, evaluate, and integrate software components for improved efficiency and security is required.
Strong ability to prepare technical reports, system documentation, and briefings for leadership and end-users is essential.
US Citizenship and IT-II Public Trust clearance are required for this position.
