Description:

  • Ground News is seeking a Jr. Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning for a contract position lasting 3-6 months.
  • The platform aims to facilitate news source comparison, combat media bias, and provide a solution to algorithm-driven news consumption.
  • The role involves working on AI applications tailored for the news industry, utilizing rich datasets with over 60,000 articles daily from 50,000+ sources.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with Data Engineers, Machine Learning engineers, and developers to integrate AI solutions, maintaining ML projects across the full stack, and working on LLM-powered applications related to news.
  • The position also involves coordinating cross-team efforts for feature/requirement creation.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in building production web applications, preferably in lean and agile work environments.
  • Full Stack Expertise: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, VueJS, React.js, and Next.js.
  • Backend Skills: Experience with MySQL, Express, and Node.js.
  • API Design: Ability to design and document RESTful APIs for web and mobile platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
