Description:
Verisian is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join their engineering team in building the Verisian Platform.
The role involves working on parsers and compilers for programming languages such as SAS, R, and Python, which are used by statistical programmers to analyze clinical trials.
Responsibilities include transforming results into graphs and advanced data structures for product development.
The engineer will participate in the analysis, design, building, and deployment of the analytics and backend stack.
The position requires building and testing new functionality, troubleshooting customer issues, and deploying fixes to enhance user impact and performance.
The application stack is based on Next.js and deployed via Docker/Kubernetes in the cloud, with code managed in Git and deployed using GitHub Actions.
The focus is on core products like the Verisian Explorer and Validator, which improve the speed and cost-effectiveness of clinical trial analysis and validation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience with and a strong interest in programming languages, parsing algorithms, interpreters, and compilers.
Proficiency in Java and at least one other programming language is required.
Familiarity with graph theory and algorithm implementation is necessary.
A passion for complex root cause analyses to identify and resolve bugs is essential.
Experience in identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues is required.
Candidates should have experience in unit and integration testing, as well as build and release management (CI/CD, GitHub Actions or similar).
