Description:
Pion is seeking a passionate Junior Backend Engineer to join their Software Development team due to steady growth plans.
The role involves working as part of a cross-functional squad within an Agile environment.
Responsibilities include backend development of the B2B SaaS product, Verification Tech, and the website.
The engineer will participate in squad stand-ups, ceremonies, and deliver results within 2-week sprints.
Collaboration with multiple stakeholders is essential to deliver first-class products and features on the Student Beans app.
The role includes taking part in team-wide code reviews and writing tests to ensure robust and reliable code.
The engineer will raise any errors, issues, or concerns to the wider Guild and contribute new ideas.
Open and proactive communication with the squad is expected, along with prioritizing workload in line with business and squad goals.
Requirements:
Candidates must have current experience in Ruby on Rails.
Experience with unit testing is required.
A passion for Ruby/Ruby on Rails and backend development is essential, along with an interest in keeping up to date with the latest technologies.
A positive approach to working within a cross-functional squad in an Agile environment is necessary.
Experience with MySQL/NoSQL is helpful but not essential.
The ability to communicate backend technologies and perspectives to non-technical individuals is required.
