Description:
Brightcove is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join their Player Services team in Guadalajara.
The candidate will be responsible for improving and maintaining Node.js-based backend services supporting web-based media players.
The role may involve frontend work in addition to backend responsibilities.
The position requires an interest in learning about various aspects of cloud-based applications.
Job responsibilities include developing clean, high-quality code, writing automated tests, contributing to technical documentation, and ensuring the uptime of Player Services.
The engineer will work in a collaborative, agile environment with a small team and across multiple teams contributing to the same product.
The ideal candidate should be motivated to learn new technologies.
Requirements:
1+ years of NodeJS software development experience.
Understanding of REST API design principles.
Experience with public cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus.
Knowledge of containers and container-based deployment, preferably Kubernetes, is advantageous.
Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment infrastructure (Jenkins, CircleCi, TeamCity).
Ability to comprehend technical documentation and standards.
Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
Effective collaboration with software engineers, product/program managers, and support personnel.
Ability to maintain high standards of quality and customer value.
Experience with MongoDB is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with video is a bonus but not required.
