Description:

The Junior Backend Engineer will join the Monetize squad, focusing on the payment user experience and carpool monetization features.
Responsibilities include participating in the design, development, and maintenance of Java microservices for monetization and payment orchestration.
The role involves engaging in the entire application lifecycle, from design to deployment, including monitoring and support.
The engineer will develop skills around critical elements of BlaBlaCar's infrastructure and collaborate with product and design teams to define features.
Interaction with diverse roles and sharing technical expertise with various experts is expected.
Requirements:
A first experience in Java and its frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito is required.
Knowledge of service-oriented architecture and the ability to determine when to apply specific architectural patterns is necessary.
Good communication skills, humility, and being a team player with a sense of humor are essential.
Some knowledge or prior experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Datadog is a plus.
Full working proficiency in English is required.
