Remote Junior Cloud Security Engineer

• Makpar is seeking a Junior Cloud Security Engineer to join their team remotely.
• The role involves safeguarding cloud-based systems and managing network security, identity management, and access control.
• The position will focus on Azure, emphasizing security configurations, network management, and advanced identity tools.
• Responsibilities include implementing and managing security policies, access controls, and identity configurations within Azure.
• The engineer will develop and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions and integrate them with cloud and SaaS applications.
• The role requires configuring and managing Group Policy Objects (GPO) in a cloud environment.
• The engineer will deploy and oversee Microsoft’s Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) for secure management of administrative passwords.
• User access permissions and privileges must be managed in alignment with security best practices.
• The engineer will design and maintain virtual networks, subnets, and firewall rules to protect data and applications.
• Continuous monitoring of security systems is essential to prevent unauthorized access and data leaks.
• The role includes ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and internal security standards.
• The engineer will assist with Azure administration, including resource management and monitoring.
• Support and resolution of IT tickets related to security, access, and cloud infrastructure issues are required.
• Collaboration on cross-functional projects for infrastructure improvements and organizational security is expected.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in IT security, cloud infrastructure, or network administration.
• In-depth experience with Azure, including Azure Active Directory and network security configurations, is required.
• Familiarity with tools such as LAPS, SSO technologies, and GPO management is necessary.
• A strong understanding of network security, VPNs, firewalls, and access management is essential.
• Solid knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards for data protection is required.
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
