Description:

  • The Junior Data Analyst role is based in Auckland and is a full-time remote position within the Auckland R&D – Product Management team.
  • The primary responsibility is to support data analysis tasks that are both ad-hoc and as-needed to facilitate better data-driven business and product decisions.
  • The initial focus will be on AI/ML risk products, followed by SLG/Mobile data gaps, and eventually larger Product & Lifecycle Management (P&L).
  • The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across multiple time zones, necessitating flexibility in working hours.
  • Key tasks include producing key metrics, dashboards, and reports to support product management requests, particularly for AI/ML initiatives and tech partnerships.
  • The analyst will present data findings and insights to internal stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining interactive dashboards for real-time analytics and reporting.
  • The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams in the UK, NZ, India, and the US, ensuring timely updates and support for all teams.
  • Writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL queries to access, manage, and analyze data within Snowflake or other relational databases is essential.
  • The role involves assisting in machine learning projects by preparing data and evaluating models, applying metrics like precision, recall, and accuracy.
  • Building and maintaining a comprehensive data dictionary to standardize and improve data usage across the organization is also required.
  • Supporting data quality initiatives by troubleshooting and validating data integrity in reports and dashboards is part of the job.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Some proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis is necessary.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and data structures is expected.
  • A strong understanding of statistical fundamentals and measures is essential.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing principles and ETL processes is required.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau, is necessary.
  • Experience with data warehouse tools, preferably Snowflake, is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Python for data manipulation and automation is preferred.
  • Prior exposure to machine learning workflows or data preparation for modeling is advantageous.
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and metrics, such as precision, recall, and accuracy, is preferred.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members is essential.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones (UK, US, India, NZ) is required.
