Description:

  • The Junior Data Engineer role at Canonical involves utilizing data analytics and data mining skills to understand and shape the future of marketing technology.
  • The position focuses on technology adoption patterns, visitor data respect, and the use of open source in marketing.
  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and marketing, preferring an environment that emphasizes ownership, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Responsibilities include utilizing advanced data analytics to grow product adoption, conducting experiments with data, collaborating with various stakeholder teams, and maintaining self-service access to data dashboards.
  • This role is part of the Marketing team and reports to the Growth Engineering Manager.
  • The position is fully remote, based in the EMEA region.

Requirements:

  • A background in data science, mathematics, actuarial science, or engineering is required.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistics, data sciences, coding/scripting languages (such as Python and JavaScript), and databases (like SQL) is essential.
  • Strong skills in data analytics and visualization tools (such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Apache Superset) are necessary.
  • The ability to translate business questions into key research objectives is important.
  • Candidates must be able to identify the best methodologies for research execution and synthesize and analyze findings effectively.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills are required.
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo and resilience in facing challenges is expected.
