Description:
The Junior Data Engineer role at Canonical involves utilizing data analytics and data mining skills to understand and shape the future of marketing technology.
The position focuses on technology adoption patterns, visitor data respect, and the use of open source in marketing.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and marketing, preferring an environment that emphasizes ownership, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include utilizing advanced data analytics to grow product adoption, conducting experiments with data, collaborating with various stakeholder teams, and maintaining self-service access to data dashboards.
This role is part of the Marketing team and reports to the Growth Engineering Manager.
The position is fully remote, based in the EMEA region.
Requirements:
A background in data science, mathematics, actuarial science, or engineering is required.
Knowledge of advanced statistics, data sciences, coding/scripting languages (such as Python and JavaScript), and databases (like SQL) is essential.
Strong skills in data analytics and visualization tools (such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Apache Superset) are necessary.
The ability to translate business questions into key research objectives is important.
Candidates must be able to identify the best methodologies for research execution and synthesize and analyze findings effectively.
Excellent writing and communication skills are required.
A willingness to challenge the status quo and resilience in facing challenges is expected.
