Remote Junior PHP Developer

Description:

• Southern Careers Institute in Austin, TX is looking for a full-time Junior PHP Developer to work on a growing middleware platform.
• The developer will need to produce code for various departments, requiring fast turnaround and flexibility.
• Responsibilities include providing effective and scalable solutions for feature requests and software repairs.
• Tasks will cover the entire development cycle: planning, coding, testing, maintenance, debugging, and deployment.
• The candidate must take ownership of their work, being able to explain its operation and debug as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaborating with the Engineering department and administrative partners.
• Writing system manuals with step-based screenshots may be required.

Requirements:

• Must live in and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Hiring is not available in CA, CT, WA DC, MA, ND, NY, OH, OR, WA, WY.
• Knowledge of MySQL, PHP, HTML, JavaScript / JQuery, JSON, Symfony, and REST-based APIs is required. Familiarity with Dart and NoSQL is a plus.
• Experience with Slack, Jira, and GitHub is necessary.
• The position is remote with the option for office presence. Dress code is casual.
