Remote Junior Software Engineer

Description:

• The Trust & Safety Moderation and Fraud team at Tripadvisor is seeking a backend software engineer to help build next-generation platform solutions.
• The engineer will partner with technology leaders and product managers to design and build highly performant solutions.
• Responsibilities include developing features and designing systems across all layers of the stack, such as relational databases, microservices, APIs, and user interfaces.
• The engineer will grow expertise in technologies, share learnings with the team, test software, maintain features, provide code reviews, and promote a collaborative engineering culture.
• This is a permanent employee position, not a B2B contract.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of industry experience.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Familiarity with full stack web development in JavaScript and Java or other object-oriented languages.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Sense of ownership, urgency, and pride in work.
• Cloud Platform experience (AWS) is a plus.
