Remote Junior Software Engineer

Description:

• The Junior Software Engineer position is based in Iași, Romania and involves joining the Developer Platform team to assist in migrating legacy systems to modern REST APIs.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with senior engineers on software design, implementation, and testing, writing clean and efficient PHP code, participating in code reviews and system design discussions, diagnosing and fixing issues, updating technical documentation, and staying updated on new technologies.
• The ideal candidate should have 0-2 years of commercial Software Engineering experience, strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in PHP, familiarity with version control systems like Git, understanding of relational databases and SQL, debugging skills, knowledge of Agile development practices, and familiarity with web development concepts.
• Desired but not required skills include experience with test-driven development, Symfony framework, Docker, SOLID principles, and REST APIs.

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of commercial Software Engineering experience
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and persistence
• Proficiency in PHP with a strong understanding of core programming language concepts and OOP principles
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git
• Understanding of relational databases, database design principles, and experience in SQL
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of Agile development practices
• Familiarity with web development concepts such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
