Description:

  • SureCost is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join their Engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
  • The position is fully remote, full-time, and entry-level.
  • The role involves collaborating with senior engineers to design and implement software features from concept to deployment.
  • Responsibilities include participating in code reviews, maintaining code quality, and contributing to web solutions and applications.
  • The Junior Software Engineer will engage in problem-solving discussions, support the integration of new technologies, and assist in troubleshooting software defects.
  • Daily activities will include participating in agile ceremonies, documenting processes, and maintaining an understanding of team projects and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have 1-3 years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is required.
  • A basic understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development methodologies is necessary.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases is expected.
  • Exposure to web development frameworks and tools, such as Spring or React, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git, is required.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and frameworks, such as OpenAI GPT and GitHub Copilot, is beneficial.
  • The ability to apply AI-driven solutions for coding, debugging, and problem-solving tasks is desired.
