SureCost is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join their Engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Manager.
The position is fully remote, full-time, and entry-level.
The role involves collaborating with senior engineers to design and implement software features from concept to deployment.
Responsibilities include participating in code reviews, maintaining code quality, and contributing to web solutions and applications.
The Junior Software Engineer will engage in problem-solving discussions, support the integration of new technologies, and assist in troubleshooting software defects.
Daily activities will include participating in agile ceremonies, documenting processes, and maintaining an understanding of team projects and objectives.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 1-3 years of professional experience in software engineering.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is required.
A basic understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development methodologies is necessary.
Experience with SQL and relational databases is expected.
Exposure to web development frameworks and tools, such as Spring or React, is preferred.
Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git, is required.
Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with generative AI tools and frameworks, such as OpenAI GPT and GitHub Copilot, is beneficial.
The ability to apply AI-driven solutions for coding, debugging, and problem-solving tasks is desired.
