Description:

Checkly, a remote-first startup, is seeking a Junior Support Engineer to assist developers in ensuring the stability of their web apps and APIs.
The role involves advising customers on solving technical challenges, being the initial point of contact for customer requests, investigating and reproducing issues, collaborating with product and engineering teams to enhance Checkly, and contributing to support processes.
The position reports to Giovanni Rago, Checkly’s Head of Customer Solutions.
The ideal candidate should have initial work experience in a technical role, strong technical skills in reading, writing, and debugging code (preferably Javascript/Node.js), familiarity with web technologies, basic understanding of SDLC, CI/CD practices, and source control (git), empathy towards customers, excellent written English skills, ability to work autonomously in a remote setting, attention to detail, and be located in UTC-3 or UTC-4 time zones.

Requirements:

Initial work experience in a technical role such as a developer.
Strong technical skills in reading, writing, and debugging code, with a preference for Javascript/Node.js.
Familiarity with web technologies like HTTP, REST, and Chrome DevTools.
Basic understanding of SDLC, CI/CD practices, and source control (git).
Empathy towards customers and a passion for problem-solving.
Excellent written English skills.
Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Located in UTC-3 or UTC-4 time zones.
