Description:
The Junior Web Developer position at Heart & Stroke is a 12-month fully remote opportunity for individuals located anywhere in Canada.
The role involves working on online fundraising and internal systems, with a focus on email development in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting online fundraising tools, producing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Jest, and SQL code, and coding email templates.
The position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, such as donors, staff, and board members, to provide solutions and services.
The Software Developer I will participate in stakeholder meetings, gather business requirements, and support project delivery processes.
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field, 1-2 years of software development experience, and proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.
Skills in MVC Frameworks, RESTful APIs, Agile methodologies, source control tools, SaaS environments, email modules, Salesforce, Sitecore, data management principles, and cloud hosting are desired.
The role requires creating support documentation, working well in a team, demonstrating strong communication skills, and excelling under pressure.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in Computer Science or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in a software development role.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.
Exposure to MVC Frameworks (React/Next.js) and RESTful API’s.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and source control tools.
Experience in a SaaS environment and with email modules and templates.
Knowledge of Salesforce, Sitecore, data management principles, and cloud hosting.
Ability to create support documentation, work in a team, and communicate effectively.
Experience in business process analysis, quality assurance, and change management.
