Remote Kubernetes Engineer - Mid level

Description:

• VivSoft is seeking a Mid-Level Kubernetes Engineer to work on a critical Department of Defense (DoD) project.
• Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes-based infrastructure for containerized applications.
• Collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant Kubernetes clusters.
• Designing network connectivity, provisioning strategies, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) systems.
• Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring containers across different environments using IaC principles.
• Designing containerized solutions for databases, data auditing, caching, and performance optimization.
• Implementing security measures, data protection strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in technical customer service and handling escalations may be required.

Requirements:

• Active DoD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5-7 years of Kubernetes experience in a production environment, preferably in a DoD or government setting.
• Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters on-premises, AWS EKS, RKE2, Azure AKS, GCP GKE.
• Strong understanding of container technologies, microservices architecture, and IaC tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, networking concepts, security, and storage within Kubernetes environments.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards like NIST, DoD STIGs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
