Description:
The LIMS Developer (The Data Custodian) will design and implement powerful Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to enhance lab operations.
This role involves collaborating with scientists, IT specialists, and lab managers to optimize data collection, tracking, and analysis across various laboratories.
Key responsibilities include developing and customizing LIMS software tailored to laboratory needs, ensuring user-friendly solutions integrated with existing technologies.
The developer will build and maintain integrations between LIMS and laboratory instruments, ensuring seamless data flow.
Implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards is crucial.
The role also includes creating custom reports and data visualization tools for real-time insights into laboratory data.
Ongoing support and maintenance of the LIMS platform, including troubleshooting and training lab personnel, are essential tasks.
Staying updated with advancements in LIMS technology and laboratory workflows is expected.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in designing and developing LIMS systems or similar laboratory management platforms is required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Perl is necessary, along with experience in building APIs and database solutions (SQL, PostgreSQL).
A deep understanding of laboratory workflows, including sample management and regulatory compliance, is essential.
Experience in integrating LIMS with lab instruments and third-party applications is required.
Knowledge of data security protocols and regulatory requirements like FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and ISO 17025 is necessary.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience in LIMS development valued.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in LIMS development, with hands-on experience in laboratory environments, is required.
Familiarity with regulatory environments such as FDA, CLIA, and ISO 17025 is highly desirable.
