Description:

Planet Argon is seeking an experienced Laravel Engineer for a 4-month contract to provide 20-30 hours per week of development support for two high-profile clients in the sports retail and self-storage industries.
The contractor will be selected by May 2nd, 2025, with a project timeline that includes onboarding and initial tasks in May, near full-time contribution in June, full-time contribution in July and August, and contract reevaluation in September.

Requirements:

The contractor will be responsible for updating or adding functionality to an open-source Laravel CMS and backend APIs, estimating and executing software version upgrades for PHP and Laravel, implementing front-end performance improvements, SEO best practices, and accessibility enhancements, resolving bugs, and collaborating with the project manager and site reliability engineer on incidents.
The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience and a senior-level understanding of Laravel and PHP, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Next.js, CSS and styling frameworks like Tailwind, Terraform, API gateways, Cloudfront, Lambda, GitHub Actions, and Docker.
The contractor should be comfortable working remotely within 1-2 hours of the EST timezone and be available for periodic meetings during EST business hours.

The hourly rate for the position is between $55.00 and $65.00 USD.
Invoices are addressed monthly or bi-weekly within 10 business days.
