Remote Laravel/PHP Engineer, 2-Month Contract (BRAZIL)

Description:

• Planet Argon is seeking an experienced PHP/Laravel developer for a 2-month contract to provide full-time support (30-35 hrs/week) for a high-profile client in the enterprise retail industry.
• The selected candidate may continue with a longer-term contract at reduced hours (15-20 hrs/week) if both parties agree.
• The contractor will work on the client's backlog of bugs, feature requests, and refactor opportunities.
• Responsibilities include updating or adding functionality to the open-source Laravel CMS, implementing front-end performance improvements, SEO best practices, improving site accessibility, resolving bugs, and addressing outages and security issues.
• The ideal candidate should have experience with Laravel, PHP, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Next.js, CSS, Tailwind, Terraform, API gateways, AWS tools, GitHub Actions, and Docker.
• The contractor should be comfortable working remotely within 1-2 hours of the EST timezone, and South and Latin American contractors are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

• Must have experience with Laravel and PHP.
• Should be proficient in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Next.js, CSS, and Tailwind.
• Familiarity with Terraform, API gateways, Cloudfront, Lambda, AWS/serverless infrastructure tools, GitHub Actions, and Docker.
• Ability to work remotely within 1-2 hours of the EST timezone.
• South and Latin American contractors are highly encouraged to apply.
