Description:
The Lead Accessibility Engineer will work on a pivotal Federal program to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of a major government initiative.
Specializing in accessibility, the role involves improving, analyzing, and ensuring compliant design for federal-facing applications and products.
Collaborating with engineering, leadership, and government partners to oversee accessibility aspects.
Developing guidelines and tools to empower the team in making accessible design and engineering decisions.
Contributing to design systems for digital products and planning effective customer research.
Creating innovative accessibility solutions adhering to organization and WCAG guidelines.
Conducting examination processes of website files for currency and compliance.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex topics concisely.
Requirements:
5 years of experience with 508 Compliance.
Direct experience in developing, designing, and testing websites for conformance to section 508 accessibility standards.
Thorough understanding of Section 508 of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applying this knowledge to create strategies for ADA users.
Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards and guidelines.
Proficiency in design and prototype tools like Sketch, Invision, Figma, XD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically.
Must be able to attain low-level security clearance.
