Description:

  • Consumer Reports is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to a fair and just marketplace for consumers.
  • The organization is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to join their Data Office and execute a strategic multi-year roadmap focused on generative AI.
  • The role involves leveraging emerging data technologies and applied AI/ML techniques to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable production-ready applications.
  • This position is eligible for fully remote status for candidates living more than 75 miles from main office locations, with specific residency requirements in certain states.
  • The Lead AI/ML Engineer will analyze business requirements, lead AI/ML initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, research AI/ML technologies, advocate for responsible AI practices, and mentor team members.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 7+ years of professional working experience in AI/ML engineering projects.
  • Strong foundations in Computer Science, Math, Probability, Statistics, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI concepts are essential.
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, Unix Scripting, and related libraries and frameworks is required.
  • Experience in building end-to-end production-grade AI/ML pipelines in cloud environments, specifically AWS and Databricks, is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with business and technology teams are required.
  • Exposure to LLMs such as OpenAI GPT3.5/4, BERT, BART, and Dolly is preferred.
