Description:
Consumer Reports is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to a fair and just marketplace for consumers.
The organization is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to join their Data Office and execute a strategic multi-year roadmap focused on generative AI.
The role involves leveraging emerging data technologies and applied AI/ML techniques to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable production-ready applications.
This position is eligible for fully remote status for candidates living more than 75 miles from main office locations, with specific residency requirements in certain states.
The Lead AI/ML Engineer will analyze business requirements, lead AI/ML initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, research AI/ML technologies, advocate for responsible AI practices, and mentor team members.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of professional working experience in AI/ML engineering projects.
Strong foundations in Computer Science, Math, Probability, Statistics, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI concepts are essential.
Expertise in Python, SQL, Unix Scripting, and related libraries and frameworks is required.
Experience in building end-to-end production-grade AI/ML pipelines in cloud environments, specifically AWS and Databricks, is necessary.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with business and technology teams are required.
Exposure to LLMs such as OpenAI GPT3.5/4, BERT, BART, and Dolly is preferred.
