Description:
The Lead AI/ML Engineer at dataplor will work remotely or from one of the company's offices in Honolulu, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Denver, or Miami.
This role involves building, deploying, and managing AI/ML models to tackle complex data challenges related to location data.
Responsibilities include processing global polygons, deduplicating records, and cleaning data from thousands of sources in various languages.
The engineer will collaborate with data operations, data scientists, software engineers, and product teams, reporting directly to the CTO.
The position requires strategic thinking and innovative solutions to drive success in advancing location data products.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing AI/ML models, maintaining ML pipelines, utilizing NLP techniques, and contributing to product development and strategic planning.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a proven experience of 5+ years in AI/ML engineering, specifically in building and deploying models, preferably in the location data or geospatial industry.
Experience in successfully deploying models into production and managing them for ongoing improvements is essential.
Applicants should have experience working with large datasets and developing data processing pipelines.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby or Python is required.
Strong knowledge of machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch and NLP techniques is necessary.
Familiarity with geospatial data processing tools and libraries, such as PostGIS, GeoPandas, and Shapely, is important.
Candidates should have experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are required, along with strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
