Description:

  • BioIntelliSense, Inc. is an award-winning continuous health monitoring and clinical intelligence company based in Denver, CO, founded in 2018.
  • The company focuses on transforming care delivery from in-hospital to home using proprietary continuous Remote Patient Monitoring (cRPM) technologies.
  • The Lead Android Firmware Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of core software components for next-generation medical devices powered by Android OS.
  • This role involves hands-on development and team leadership, including planning, grooming, and driving project activities for mobile, SDK, and connectivity solutions.
  • The engineer will support end-to-end architecture, development, DevOps, and verification of the connectivity data pipeline from device to cloud.
  • Responsibilities include mentoring a team of software engineers, troubleshooting technical issues, designing low-level system functionalities, and integrating Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wifi technology.
  • The engineer will also architect cloud connectivity using AWS IoT services and ensure software adheres to medical device safety and regulatory requirements.
  • The position requires collaboration with hardware engineers, product managers, and regulatory teams to deliver high-quality, secure medical devices and solutions.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development, preferably with medical devices, is necessary.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Android operating system, including kernel-level interactions, is essential.
  • Proven experience with hands-on development of low-level system functionalities is required.
  • Strong understanding of BLE technology and its implementation in Android environments is necessary.
  • Experience integrating AWS IoT or similar cloud IoT platforms in embedded systems is required.
  • A solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts and protocols is essential.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin for modern Android app development is required.
  • Experience with Python for scripting and tooling is necessary.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, preferably Agile, is required.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to developing solutions that improve patient lives is required.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations (FDA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems in highly regulated environments is preferred.
  • Experience with tool chains, workflows, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity implementation for IoT is necessary.
  • Experience with testing and verification, including unit, penetration, integration, performance, and reliability, is required.
  • Knowledge of data-driven analysis and applied statistics is necessary.
  • Experience with process development and change management is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to work with global stakeholders effectively are required.
