Description:

The Lead AWS Software Engineer position at City Electrical Factors is a remote role that focuses on creating tailored cloud solutions and tools to enhance the productivity of development teams.
The role involves leading a team in the creation and maintenance of cloud solutions that deliver measurable value to the company.
The engineer will work closely with a leadership counterpart in North America to implement the City Technology Strategy and support the company's ambitious growth.
Responsibilities include leading with a focus on value delivery, contributing to team delivery and tooling, creating and maintaining custom SDKs, CDKs, authentication services, and CLIs.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide tailored cloud solutions.
Establishing and encouraging best development standards and practices, as well as coaching team members, is also a key part of the role.

Requirements:

Proven leadership experience as a line manager or technical lead is required.
Demonstrable experience in implementing best practices, processes, and tools for effective software delivery is essential.
Proficiency in TypeScript is necessary.
Hands-on experience with AWS SDK and AWS CDK for developing stable, serverless-first shared code and platforms is required.
Experience with a range of AWS services for a serverless-first, microservices-oriented architecture is needed, including services like Lambda, ECS, Fargate, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, AppSync, Step Functions, EventBridge, IAM, Cognito, VPC, CloudFront, and Route 53.
Familiarity with Git/GitLab is required.
