Remote Lead Backend Engineer

Description:

• Craft and scale the backend architecture for Delta's innovative apps
• Work with a tech stack including Typescript (Node.js), MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and ElasticSearch
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for testing, linting, and security scanning
• Deploy code multiple times per day in an AWS cloud environment
• Mentor and coach backend engineers
• Work in the Ghent, Belgium office in a historic building in the city center
• Be part of a scale-up within the bigger entity of eToro
• Contribute to a fintech app used by millions of investors daily
• Launch and grow an investment tracker feature
• Aim to become a leading platform in the fintech space

Requirements:

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Ability to diagnose technical issues, debug code, and automate tasks
• Analytical skills, strong communication, and sense of ownership
• Knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, test-driven development, CI/CD
• Proficiency in Typescript on Node.js
• Experience with MySQL, Redis, AWS, and Linux environments
• Bonus: familiarity with time series-oriented databases, blockchain development, mentoring skills
