Description:

NuvoAir is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to help shape and scale their digital health platform.
This role is high-impact and requires strong software engineering fundamentals and deep backend expertise.
The engineer will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing backend services for virtual care solutions.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying backend services, improving the quality and performance of backend systems, ensuring security and regulatory compliance, and providing technical leadership and mentorship.
The engineer will take ownership of the services built, ensuring their operational health and reliability.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of backend engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, Spring framework, ORM tools, and relational databases is required.
Proven experience in building and maintaining service-oriented and event-driven systems, including familiarity with tools like Kafka.
Demonstrated ability to ship and support high-traffic production systems is essential.
Experience deploying services in Kubernetes environments is necessary.
It is a bonus to have experience with DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms, knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles, and a background in the healthcare industry or regulated environments.
