Description:
Rackspace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Engineer for a greenfield project involving the migration of a new customer into a multicloud environment.
The role involves overseeing various aspects of network architecture, information security, IT system administration, and DevOps processes.
Key responsibilities include coordinating technical, peripheral, and management aspects of cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements.
The engineer will identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
Collaboration with customer engineering teams on various projects is essential.
The position requires implementing automation and DevOps best practices for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerization.
Responsibilities also include performing Linux and Windows administration, automated deployments, and scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
The engineer will work with fellow Rackers and customer stakeholders to deliver projects, implement cloud-based technical architectures, execute migrations, and optimize applications to meet business objectives.
Serving as a technical advisor and troubleshooting technical challenges for customers is also part of the role.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field is required, with a master’s degree preferred; additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
Candidates must have 7+ years of combined technical support experience.
Expert-level knowledge of AWS and Azure is required, along with familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience working in a project environment, in a supplier, vendor, or consultant capacity is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with cloud migrations from on-premises to cloud.
Administration experience with both Windows and Linux servers is required.
Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as ServiceNow is necessary.
Candidates must be experienced with DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes.
