Remote Lead Cloud Network Engineer

Description:

• The Lead Cloud Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, and operational health of Revinate networks.
• Revinate's network topology consists of cloud and on-prem systems, numerous partner networks, peering, and advanced routing configuration.
• The role requires understanding business requirements, following emerging and current technologies, and implementing solutions that provide exceptional value.
• The Network Engineer will manage solutions through their entire life cycle and ensure that all infrastructure solutions adhere to industry best practices with a security-first stance.
• Responsibilities include owning the entire network infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving software, hardware, and network problems, and designing effective network solutions.
• The engineer will perform disaster recovery operations, monitor overall network performance, and support intra and inter-cloud networking design.
• Additional tasks include configuring network routing and switching equipment, monitoring health and availability of network components, and collaborating with Security and Compliance teams.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience in Computer Science or a similar field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
• Expertise in one or more commercial cloud offerings such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
• A strong working knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud platforms is essential.
• Familiarity with system management technologies like Terraform is required.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are needed.
• Good communication and collaboration skills are essential for the role.
• Leadership skills with demonstrable examples of leading projects and/or teams are required.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD is necessary.
• Hands-on experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and a solid understanding of network routing protocols is required.
• Experience configuring and managing cross-cloud connectivity, particularly with AWS Transit Gateway and GCP Network Connectivity Center, is preferred.
• Proficiency in implementing and maintaining management tools, both commercial and open source, is necessary.
• Advanced understanding of firewall configuration and management, including ingress/egress filtering, NAT, PAT, SSL, IPSEC, content inspection, IDS, and IPF is required.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus 7000 series switches and Palo Alto Network devices is necessary.
• Familiarity with DataDog and Observium/LibreNMS for network monitoring is required.
