Remote Lead Cybersecurity Instructor, Spring 2025

Description:

• CodePath is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Instructor for a remote, contractor position from December 2024 to May 2025.
• The instructor will provide in-class instruction and be the “face” of CodePath’s virtual classes for university students across the nation.
• Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons using CodePath curriculum, coordinating with co-instructors and teaching assistants, and ensuring the course meets program KPIs while integrating student feedback.
• Instructors will be compensated for 2 hours of preparation time for each unit taught and for pre-course onboarding and training activities.
• The position involves leading the lecture portion of online classes for approximately 300 college students and working closely with the Program Manager and other instructors.
• The instructor will participate in onboarding syncs, check-ins, and provide feedback to other instructors during the course.
• The role requires a technical leader in Cybersecurity with at least 1 year of professional experience in the field.

Requirements:

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or comparable experience in Cybersecurity is required.
• Candidates must have at least 1 year of professional experience in a Cybersecurity role.
• Proficiency with Linux, Bash shell commands, package installation, and SSH access to remote machines is necessary.
• Security+ certification or similar is preferred, as the role requires general knowledge of various Cybersecurity concepts.
• A passion for training the next generation of developers and some experience in teaching or training in educational, volunteer, or work settings is essential.
• Candidates should be comfortable in online learning environments and have a desire to create inclusive educational spaces.
