Remote Lead Data Scientist, Support (GenAI)

Description:

• Wolt is seeking a Lead Data Scientist for their Support Group, which focuses on developing in-house customer service tooling.
• The role involves working on support chat, operational tooling for support agents, and self-service and automation.
• The Data Science Team Lead will oversee a small team of data scientists embedded in cross-functional development teams.
• Responsibilities include scaling Data Science as a function, managing Machine Learning and AI use cases, and facilitating team development through personal development plans and regular 1on1s.
• The position requires collaboration with senior stakeholders to set the data science vision and direction for the group.
• The role can be based in Berlin, Helsinki, or Stockholm, or can be performed remotely from Finland, Sweden, Germany, or Estonia, with relocation support available for candidates outside these countries.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have previous experience building Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI solutions with measurable impact.
• A strong understanding of building production-level ML and AI solutions is essential, along with experience in real-time applications and large-scale deployments.
• Experience in leading a technical Data Science team and improving best practices is required.
• Candidates should have a background in making personal development plans, hosting regular 1on1s, and participating in recruitment.
• A deep understanding of Machine Learning, AI, and Statistics, along with experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), is necessary.
• Interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI) applications is preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are needed to represent the function to the organization and work with senior stakeholders.
• Candidates must demonstrate strong cultural leadership and care for the well-being and improvement of team members.
