A European IT company, which has been creating software products of any level of complexity for more than 15 years, is looking for a highly skilled Lead Database Administrator.

The position offers completely remote cooperation, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world.
Your tasks will include designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to support business applications, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions for critical databases, and monitoring database performance while optimizing query execution.
You will lead and mentor a team of database administrators and developers, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), manage database technologies for MS SQL Server (mandatory), and optionally PostgreSQL, and work with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure to manage cloud-based databases.
Requirements:
You must have 5+ years of experience in database administration, including leadership roles.
Proficiency in database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization is required.
You should have expertise in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
Hands-on experience with database replication, partitioning, and clustering is necessary.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for database deployments is expected.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is required.
You must have English language proficiency at a B2 level or higher.
