Description:
TherapyNotes is seeking an experienced database professional to join their growing team.
The right candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL databases, both on-premise and in the cloud.
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining critical database systems (PostgreSQL) that support a growing 24x7 SaaS platform.
Responsibilities include providing leadership for all policies and procedures that govern data operations, security, management, and usage.
The candidate will participate in project management and sprint ceremonies to deliver solutions.
Mentoring, coaching, and guiding members of the database team is expected.
Effective communication with team members, other teams, and stakeholders is essential.
The role ensures that database design and operations support the availability, scalability, and recoverability needs of the business.
The candidate will perform tuning and capacity management to meet the performance needs of the business.
Guidance and direction will be provided to developers and engineers on database development, design principles, query optimization, and index management in a fully automated deployment pipeline.
Support for development and testing, including test data setup, automated testing scenarios, and dev/test environment data refreshes, is required.
The candidate will research and evaluate emerging database technologies and trends to enhance the use of data and databases within the organization.
Compliance with HIPAA security policies within the database platform is mandatory.
The role includes providing on-call coverage for production support.
Requirements:
A BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent is required.
The candidate must have 10+ years of experience with relational database administration.
A minimum of 3+ years of experience administering highly-available PostgreSQL databases is necessary.
Expertise in RDBMS principles, database design, and normalization is required.
The candidate must be an expert in PostgreSQL database architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability technologies.
Expertise in query optimization, indexing knowledge, modeling basics, materialized views, and partitioning is essential.
The candidate should be proficient with PL/PgSQL, triggers, and stored procedure development and optimization in PostgreSQL.
Proficiency with operating PostgreSQL in a Linux environment is required.
Experience with .NET clients using PpSQL is a plus.
Experience with RDBMS in the cloud is a plus.
Familiarity with agile software development and DevOps principles is a plus.
