Description:

  • TherapyNotes is seeking an experienced database professional to join their growing team.
  • The right candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL databases, both on-premise and in the cloud.
  • The role involves working in a highly collaborative, DevOps culture across the technology organization.
  • Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining critical database systems (PostgreSQL) that support a growing 24x7 SaaS platform.
  • The candidate will provide leadership for all policies and procedures governing data operations, security, management, and usage.
  • Participation in project management and sprint ceremonies to deliver solutions is expected.
  • The role includes mentoring, coaching, and guiding members of the database team.
  • Effective communication with team members, other teams, and stakeholders is essential.
  • The candidate will ensure that database design and operations support the availability, scalability, and recoverability needs of the business.
  • Responsibilities also include performing tuning and capacity management to meet the performance needs of the business.
  • The candidate will guide developers and engineers on database development, design principles, query optimization, and index management in a fully automated deployment pipeline.
  • Support for development and testing, including test data setup, automated testing scenarios, and dev/test environment data refreshes, is required.
  • Researching and evaluating emerging database technologies and trends to enhance data usage within the organization is part of the role.
  • The candidate will be accountable for complying with HIPAA security policies within the database platform.
  • On-call coverage for production support is also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • A BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must have 10+ years of experience with relational database administration.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience administering highly-available PostgreSQL databases is necessary.
  • The candidate must be an expert in RDBMS principles, database design, and normalization.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL database architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability technologies is required.
  • The candidate should have expert knowledge in query optimization, indexing, modeling basics, materialized views, and partitioning.
  • Proficiency in PL/PgSQL, triggers, and stored procedure development and optimization in PostgreSQL is essential.
  • The candidate must be proficient in operating PostgreSQL in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with .NET clients using PpSQL is a plus.
  • Experience with RDBMS in the cloud is a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile software development and DevOps principles is a plus.
