Remote Lead Database Engineer

Description:

• TherapyNotes is looking for an experienced database professional to join their team, with a focus on PostgreSQL databases.
• The candidate will work in a collaborative DevOps culture within the technology organization.
• Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining critical database systems supporting a 24x7 SAAS platform.
• The role involves providing leadership for data operations, security, and management policies, participating in project management, and mentoring team members.
• The candidate will ensure database design and operations meet business needs for availability, scalability, and recoverability.
• They will guide developers on database development, query optimization, and index management in an automated deployment pipeline.
• Researching and evaluating emerging database technologies, complying with HIPAA security policies, and providing on-call support are also part of the role.

Requirements:

• BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in relational database administration.
• 3+ years of experience with highly-available PostgreSQL databases.
• Expertise in RDBMS principles, database design, normalization, and PostgreSQL architecture.
• Proficiency in query optimization, indexing, PL/PgSQL, triggers, and stored procedure development in PostgreSQL.
• Experience with operating PostgreSQL in a Linux environment.
