Description:

  • HyreCar is a carsharing marketplace that connects drivers needing vehicles for gig work with owners and fleet operators.
  • The Lead Developer will lead the engineering team to enhance engineering efforts, provide technical expertise, and balance technical excellence with solving user problems.
  • Responsibilities include building new features, providing technical leadership, strategic planning, ensuring code quality, overseeing system architecture, mentoring developers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying current with emerging technologies, and resolving technical issues.
  • The position is remote but requires availability during Pacific time zone hours with some overlap for the Paris office.
  • Tech stack includes Node.JS, Typescript, GraphQL, AWS Lambda, Terraform, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and React.
  • The Lead Developer will work closely with product managers, the VP of Engineering at HyreCar, the Global VP of Engineering at Getaround, and developers across different regions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and Architect.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Typescript, GraphQL, SQL, NoSQL databases, AWS, Google Cloud, software design patterns, and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, leadership, and people management skills.
  • Experience leading distributed teams, working with relational and non-relational databases, and balancing technical excellence with user-focused solutions.
