Description:
The Lead DevOps Engineer at Experian will be responsible for ensuring the robustness, performance, and scalability of infrastructure and applications through superior monitoring and observability practices.
They will lead the design and implementation of observability solutions to provide insights into application performance, system health, and user experience.
Collaborating with infrastructure teams, the engineer will automate and optimize infrastructure provisioning and scaling using tools like Terraform.
The role involves championing the adoption of open telemetry standards, integrating monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk, and evaluating new technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of observability practices.
The engineer will foster a culture of continuous learning, provide leadership and mentoring to the observability team, and drive a collaborative and inclusive environment for innovation and growth.
Requirements:
8+ years of devops engineering experience.
Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred.
Experience in designing and implementing observability systems for microservices-based applications.
Proficiency in migrating monitoring systems to Prometheus and Grafana.
Ability to develop alerting systems for detecting and responding to performance issues.
Strong communication skills to interact with team members, customers, vendors, and leadership.
Advanced Shell scripting and IaC automation skills with Ansible and Terraform.
Deep understanding of open telemetry standards and experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
Proactive attitude towards new technology adoption, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
Working knowledge of Python, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and enterprise monitoring practices.
Experience in APM, custom attribute implementation, synthetic monitoring, browser monitoring, log monitoring, and creating monitoring solutions for hybrid business applications and infrastructure.
