Description:

  • Gorilla Logic is seeking a full-time remote Lead DevOps Engineer for CarNow, responsible for infrastructure as code (IaC), software development, continuous integration, system administration, and Linux management.
  • The Lead DevOps Engineer will lead and manage the technical aspects of the DevOps team on a daily basis.
  • Key responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues, ensuring site reliability of the infrastructure, maintaining a disaster recovery plan, documenting DevOps processes, and automating the deployment of new services.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with Java or Typescript being a plus.
  • A strong background in software development and continuous integration is required.
  • Proficiency in Linux management is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary for this role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities are required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience is mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications, such as AWS or Azure, are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up scalable architectures and systems, including caching, message queues, databases, and microservices, is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, such as pods, services, deployments, and secrets, is necessary.
  • Experience with containerized applications in Docker is essential.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash is required.
  • The ability to set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud applications is necessary, with experience in Datadog being a plus.
  • A strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Argo CI/CD and GitHub Actions is necessary.
