Remote Lead Engineer, B2B Commerce Technology

Description:

• As the Lead Engineer of B2B Technology at Balsam Brands, you will be responsible for operational management and strategic development within the B2B Technology team.
• Your role will involve leveraging advanced technologies such as Shopify Plus, Gladly, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and serverless frameworks to enhance e-commerce capabilities.
• You will lead the development and optimization of the B2B commerce platform, focusing on customizing the Shopify Plus frontend and integrating it with the Order Management System (OMS).
• Overseeing the integration and deployment of customer support software, Gladly, to improve customer interaction and service will be part of your responsibilities.
• Mentoring and guiding a team of developers and IT professionals, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with data security and privacy regulations are key aspects of this role.
• You will drive initiatives to adopt new technologies, maintain documentation, and ensure continuous improvement to keep the company at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements:

• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Over 8 years of professional experience, with more than 5 years in the e-commerce sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience leading technology teams and projects in a B2B commerce environment.
• Strong technical proficiency with Shopify and Gladly platforms, as well as backend development using TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.
• Excellent leadership, team management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, project management tools, data security protocols, and GDPR compliance.
• Shopify certification is desirable.
