Description:
VERB is a digital marketing agency located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, offering opportunities to work with global clients in the travel industry.
The Lead Frontend Developer will have deep expertise in React and headless CMS architectures, specifically WordPress and Drupal.
This role is responsible for leading the development of scalable frontend applications, optimizing performance, and integrating CMS platforms in decoupled environments.
The ideal candidate will act as a technical leader, guiding a development team and collaborating across departments to deliver seamless digital experiences.
Responsibilities include leading the development and delivery of React-based frontend applications, providing technical guidance to developers, and leveraging expertise in CMS integration.
The developer will oversee the implementation of custom modules, plugins, and themes, plan and document technical solutions, and ensure compatibility between frontend frameworks and CMS platforms.
Collaboration with designers, backend developers, and project managers is essential to deliver end-to-end solutions, along with articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
The role also involves optimizing frontend performance for speed, responsiveness, and scalability.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in React and its ecosystem, including Hooks and Next.js.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and modern frontend build tools such as Webpack and Vite is required.
Hands-on experience with WordPress and Drupal, particularly in headless or decoupled configurations, is essential.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and CMS API endpoints is necessary.
Proven experience as a technical lead or senior frontend developer in complex web projects is required.
Prior experience with headless CMS architectures is a must.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are essential.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills are required.
The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines is necessary.
