Description:

  • Roo is a company focused on improving animal care by connecting veterinary professionals with hospitals through a B2B labor marketplace.
  • They are seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to work on building out Roo's web application for animal hospitals and veterinary professionals.
  • The engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features for the platform.
  • Responsibilities include leading new projects from concept to deployment, shaping technical architecture, and writing scalable code on the front and back-end.
  • Qualifications include 5-7 years of experience with JavaScript, React, Node.js, and proficiency in SQL queries.
  • Desired skills include B2B, Marketplace, and/or SaaS experience, as well as knowledge of Express, HTML5, CSS, Redux, Next.js, AWS, and Relational Databases.
  • Additional experience with Cypress, React Native, and TypeScript is a plus, and a degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is self-driven, agile, collaborative, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and has a positive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer with JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Experience working with a growing team and early stage startup is preferred.
  • Proficient in writing complex and efficient SQL queries.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with Express, HTML5, CSS, Redux, Next.js, AWS, and Relational Databases.
  • Experience with Cypress, React Native, and TypeScript is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferred.
