Description:

The company is looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer with a strong Ruby background and solid DevOps experience to enhance their internal platform for product development.
This role is part of the internal platform team, focusing on developer velocity, infrastructure reliability, system monitoring, and operational excellence.
The Lead Engineer will work closely with the Engineering Manager to design systems, lead implementation, and mentor teammates.
Responsibilities include designing and building internal tools, systems, and services using Ruby, React JS, and PostgreSQL.
The role involves leading the architecture and implementation of core platform capabilities, managing Heroku and AWS infrastructures, and ensuring the reliability and performance of shared systems.
The engineer will collaborate with product teams to improve developer workflows and build tools for delivery, monitoring, and debugging.
The position requires participation in an on-call rotation and fostering a culture of reliability and ownership.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
Strong experience in building and maintaining Ruby applications in production is required.
Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query performance, and migrations, is essential.
Experience with AWS infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and cloud-native tooling is necessary.
A solid understanding of DevOps principles, including automation, observability, scaling, and release management, is required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with product engineers, Engineering Managers, and leadership are important.
A passion for building tools that enhance the effectiveness and productivity of other engineers is desired.
