Description:
As a Lead Fullstack Engineer for the App Systems Team at Postscript, you will architect and build core pricing, billing, and authentication components for shops using our messaging and AI products.
Your work will contribute directly to the security and integrity of our onboarding and billing frameworks and our ability to offer innovative pricing paradigms for our emerging AI integrations.
You will have the autonomy to grow to your full potential, and your contributions will directly impact our customers and Postscript’s bottom line.
Lead Fullstack Engineers at Postscript have a high impact on their team and the wider engineering organization through project leadership, technical expertise, and decision-making.
You will guide your team in weighing technical constraints and business priorities to make necessary trade-offs to deliver customer value and mentor other team members in distributed systems design.
The primary stack includes a Python monolith and Go microservices, in a hybrid environment of monolithic and distributed architectures.
The front end leverages React and Typescript, with a backend in either Go or Python, using Postgres, MongoDB, and Snowflake as data sources.
You will research, design, and deploy new technical solutions for various groundbreaking projects, architect and maintain REST APIs, and collaborate closely with a cross-functional team.
You will take ownership of your solutions, contribute to team health through feedback, guide optimal technical and product design decisions, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements:
You must have a track record as a software engineer who has led high-performing teams or projects, with SaaS experience preferred.
Significant experience in distributed systems design, particularly in systems at scale in a microservices environment, is required.
A proven career as a software engineer developing backend applications and APIs, with hands-on expertise in Go, Python, and React, is essential.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases and database modeling is necessary.
Familiarity with building applications on AWS services is required.
You should have experience building modular, flexible architectures that maximize readability and extensibility.
Working familiarity with component design, state management, and testing in a React app is needed.
A history of pragmatically adopting new technology to support teamwork and great engineering outcomes is important.
Stellar verbal and written communication skills are required.
Experience building great products, particularly in high growth, early-stage tech, is preferred.
Experience coaching and mentoring engineers is necessary.
