The Lead Machine Learning Engineer will join the Snap team, developing AI-driven solutions for effortless food logging.
The role involves building and scaling a photo logging AI product, collaborating with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts.
Responsibilities include evaluating model performance, conducting A/B testing, and improving model accuracy and efficiency.
The engineer will work on backend problems, collaborate with product managers and UX designers, and write code across micro-services and data pipelines.
Staying current with machine learning research and integrating new methodologies into workflows is essential.
The position requires shipping code in production frequently, ideally daily.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working on a deployed ML or AI product is required.
A strong background in ML, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics is necessary, either through a degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with large scale backend systems, including scaling challenges and high availability, is essential.
Candidates should be passionate about LLMs, prompting techniques, and evaluation strategies.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java is required.
Understanding of cloud platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, Vertex AI, or Sagemaker is necessary.
Bonus points for experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn, and data analysis or data science experience.
